The aarti without the crowd

Har Ki Pauri fills every evening and most visitors watch from the back of it. You stand at Brahma Kund on reserved access, with a pandit alongside explaining what is being offered and why, so the ritual is followed rather than watched.

Where the Ganga is born

At Devprayag the Bhagirathi and the Alaknanda arrive as two rivers and leave as one. Most travellers stop for a photograph. You spend a morning at the sangam in a private spot held for the group, with Yog Guru Surakshit Goswami.

Two voices, all six days

Yog Guru Surakshit Goswami travels the whole journey: morning yoga, night meditation, the session at the sangam. Kathavachak Raman Iyer opens the first evening and returns through the days with the text behind the sites.
